A Bit About Me...

I came to yoga from a dance background. Vinyasa yoga has all the components I love about dance, including the space for developing self-expression.

My roots in yoga were established in 1999 at the Jivamukti Studio in New York City, where I practiced with David Life and Uma Saraswati. I felt as if I had found my home. The mix of dance like movements, great music, an opportunity to sing/chant in every class with a philosophical component, it was a match well made.

In 2002, I graduated from Film School and had decided that was not the industry for me. I was lost and not sure what I was going to do with my life. A dear friend and fellow yoga enthusiast had decided to take a training at Sonic Yoga in 2003 and invited me to join. I thought “why not?” I was blown away at how rich the history, practice and application of the teachings were. I also realized I loved teaching!

Since then I have taken between 1-3 trainings a year and still do so. I love being a student. There’s so much to learn and it’s such a privilege to step out of the day-to-day and immerse myself in the practice and student community. When I lead trainings, I encourage my students to do the same.

What I offer in my classes is a mixture of all that I've learned from the physical to the philosophical. My intention is to give you the space to connect to your body and spirit so that you remember that home is right here, in your body and breath.

A Bit About
Practice with Clara

I had a vision over 10 years ago to create a virtual studio where I offered the kind of yoga I LOVE to practice and teach. With the help of my small team, we launched in 2019.

Nothing beats an in-person class; however, we don't always have the time, means, or proximity to get to a brick-and-mortar studio.

This is a place you can come to - to connect to your body, reflect on your life, and hear the innate wisdom that lives within you.

Do you want to take your yoga practice to the next level?

Comments from Our Community

"Late last year, I suffered a late term pregnancy loss. While the physical symptoms healed over time, the intense grief and mental strife stayed with me. I struggled to make a mind-body connection.  I have been a long time follower of Clara's yoga practice and always internalized her guidance in my daily life - to find calm in chaos. I realized that grief could be treated in a similar way, especially when the death occurred inside my own body. Through this series - The Alchemist Within - and other daily practices with Clara, I could sense a shift in how my body and mind were speaking to each other. My mind started to catch up to my body. Gradually, I felt lighter. I could find a sense of calm in my most triggered moments. I will never forget my son, but have recognized that sometimes healing can find itself into your heart in different ways, like through yoga".

The practice keeps me rooted. One short practice at a time reminds me I don’t have to rush — just show up for myself. This is a footstep towards truest self, my freedom. It is so important to be at the same rooted, with myself and also part of a community where I can share my experience and connect, where I feel free and safe, where I have the space to grow up but also to rest and integrate. It is so precious and I am truly grateful

It seems with every passing year, the love and gratitude I have for the community grows deeper. The PWC community is one space that has been and continues to be a big blessing.

I love the PWC community for how real it feels; it's free of judgment and safe to share where you are in your yoga or life journey, including the struggles you are facing or any raw emotions you’re carrying at the moment. I believe a big part of my dharma is to hold space for others, and I get to practice that here.

Clara has always seemed like an old friend I met at this party, who knows where or when that I wasn’t sure I wanted to go to, but I’m sure glad I went because I met this really cool person who changed my life.

And so it continues many, many years later; I have become a better practitioner, student, and teacher, not to mention mother, partner and overall better human since coming into contact with this beautiful soul.

Something about her teaching creates an allowance in your body that enables you to experience what it truly means to find ease through effort and strength through release.  Her teachings have helped me increase my awareness and appreciation of my body, what its capable of and how it moves.

In the 30+ years I have been practicing, I can name only a very few teachers who really offered me what yoga can deliver, and Clara is definitely one of them. She plays your body like a musical instrument. She's like the jazz musician of yoga teachers, riffing and meandering down creative pathways.

No staying inside the lines with her teaching. Live classes can be on Zoom, so your adjustments are called out. So she'll get to know you if you show up to your mat.

Practice with Clara has something for everyone at every level.  It is the most prolific practice that I have found with an extensive amount of content organized in a way that makes it easy to find just what you need or to just follow one of the many recommendations.

I would and have recommended Practice with Clara to anyone that is curious or already has an existing practice.
