YES, no matter where you are at in your practice, there are classes for you on Practice with Clara

We’ve created playlists for beginners and those who are new to the practice.

The biggest thing is to always listen to your body; your body is the greatest teacher.

Where did Clara learn to teach this style of yoga?

In 2003, Clara found one of her most influential teachers, Shiva Rea, thanks to her mentor Lauren Hanna. Clara has been part of the Prana Flow family ever since.

Another mentor of Clara’s is Stacey Brass, the owner of Yoga Maya in NYC. Stacey has always had a strong influence on Clara’s teaching for her intelligent sequencing, direct language, and the ability to be genuinely herself on and off the yoga mat. Stacey showed Clara what it was to be more honest and authentic and acts as a reminder to keep it real, no matter what.

Clara humbly bows to all the other teachers she’s met along the way, including her first Kundalini yoga teacher at Hunter College, Mary Flinn. Uma Saraswati for making her heart sing and Dana Flynn for breaking all the rules and inspiring her to do the same. Louis Etting for demonstrating the power of simplicity and Rod Stryker for illuminating the sutras and sharing his passion for Tantra. Ana Forrest for her fierce compassion. Daniel Odier for sharing his embodied teachings and Paul Ortega for reminding us that we are all cosmic dancers.

To get a feel for this style of yoga, check out the Vinyasa Yoga Collection.

How can I develop my practice and understanding of Vinyasa Yoga?

If you want to do a deep dive into vinyasa yoga and learn more about Prana Flow and Wave Theory sequencing, you can practice on the PWC site with the Prana Flow Playlist.

You can join Clara for the
Art of Sequencing Training to unpack peak yoga postures, do a deep dive into Prana Flow Wave Theory sequencing, discuss themes, integrate unique elements into a class, and explore how and why we create balance in the body and mind.

Accessing the Spotify Playlists

With each class, you have the option to have a musical soundtrack or just listen to Clara’s instruction.

We have teamed up with some great producers who created mixes for some of the classes, you can find those in the Music Accompaniment playlist.

Clara has also curated Spotify* playlists, you'll see them on the class page when you log in with your browser (these are not available on the app class pages only on the website class pages).

Click on the Spotify link, which will take you to either a new page or open your Spotify* app on your desktop or mobile. We recommend that you turn the volume down on Spotify mid way or less so the music won't compete with Clara's voice.

For those of you enjoying the classes on a TV or mobile apps, you won't be able to play the Spotify* playlists simultaneously. You'll need to open the playlist on a separate device as you can't run two apps at the same time on app based devices (Mobile, tablet, TV).

*To play the Spotify playlists, you will need to be a premium Spotify member.*

Where do I start if I’m new to the app?

If you’re new to PWC, it’s great to have you join us! We have a Welcome to Practice with Clara Playlist to help you get acquainted with the app and art of yoga.

If you’re new to yoga, the For Beginners Collection offers a schedule of classes for you to do over two weeks. The best way to learn anything new is through repetition. Clara has suggested eight classes for beginners to practice over the first two weeks using the app. These classes offer a balance of lengthening, strengthening, and relaxation.

In the How-To Guides Collection, you’ll find several videos describing how to do basic yoga postures, the alignment for peak yoga poses, and tutorials for those recovering from injury with modifications for sensitivity. This collection is a great starting point for anyone new to using props, pranayamas (breathwork), and etiquette in yoga studios.

Finally, in the Intro to PWC App & Spotify Playlists, Clara walks you through the Practice with Clara Apps to learn about the features and get a detailed view of all the playlists and classes available.

What classes should I start with?

If you’re new to the PWC Apps and about to begin your journey, here are a few playlists for you to start with:

I also suggest joining one of our 30-Day Virtual Yoga Challenges and checking out the previous challenge playlists at the bottom of the catalog. The past 30-day playlists are readily available anytime for you to go at your own pace.

Here are the first four 30-Day Virtual Yoga Challenges:

  1. Energize | Into the Stars Virtual Yoga Challenge

For this yoga challenge, we’re taking you into the stars for a celestial experience that embodies movement, mindfulness, and astrology.

How can I track my progress?

To track your progress each month, we create a class of the day calendar that outlines the selection of classes presented that month. In addition, we post the class of the day in the PWC Facebook Group for members to ask questions, share their experiences, and discuss the various aspects of the class.

The 30-Day Virtual Yoga Challenges present a way to develop a consistent practice and create a ritual in yoga and mindfulness. We ask that people post in the PWC Apps or PWC FB Group to hold each other accountable during the challenge. The routine of checking off each day with the group helps build and maintain the momentum.

Who is the Quick Fix playlist for?

The Quick Fix Collection is perfect for anyone tight on time and who wants to do a short workout or hit reset on their day. Take a short class to transform your day; these classes are open for yogis of all levels and don't always require a yoga mat or studio space to perform! Do from your desk, standing, or while you're waiting in traffic.

The classes in these collections include movement, mantra, pranayama, and meditation.

Choose from <10-Minute Classes, 10-20 Minute Classes, or 20-40 Minute Classes to start your day or do on your lunch hour.

What is the Alternative Collection?

The Alternative Collection presents four collections of classes featuring movement, pranayama, visualization practices, meditation, and mantra. These courses were designed based on the esoterics of yoga and more subtle practices around the chakras, elements, and Ayurveda.

Here’s a brief outline of each of the collections featured:

The Chakras Collection
You have many chakras (intersection of energy lines) in your body. We, as yogis, focus on seven that run up our main energy channel known as Sushumna. In this series, we'll explore each of the chakras with unique classes geared towards lighting them up.

The Elements Collection

In Ayurveda, the sister science of Yoga, it is believed we are made of the Five Great Elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether/Space.

Each element has its own healing properties. The classes in each of the respective elements will help you embody those healing properties. Choose an element based on what you need.

  • Earth | grounding, slow

  • Water | fluid, adaptable, creative

  • Fire | hot, intense, transformative

  • Air | mobile, light

  • Ether/Space | omnipresent, subtle

The Ayurveda Collection

This playlist is comprised of yoga classes and meditations that help to balance the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, & Kapha).

Ayurveda is an ancient Vedic practice and one of India’s oldest medicines, originating more than 5,000 years ago. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means ‘The Science of Life’ and is the sister science to yoga. Also called the Mother of Healing, Ayurveda’s practice is rooted in preventing illness through balance and reflection on each individual's diet, thoughts, relationships, environment, and activities.

With Musical Accompaniment,
We've teamed up with some amazing producers and musicians to create unique mixes for some of the classes. So turn up the volume to hear the musical accompaniment for each of these classes!

What is the Mood Collection?

The Mood Collection is curated based on your mood and what you're craving on any given day. This collection aims to connect with how you feel and what you need; before you choose a class, ask yourself what your body needs and select the class that serves. We’ve got classes for you to build strength, create space and length, unwind, and amplify your energy!

Choose from our most-sought out collections with:

You should do these practices To treat your body and mind to an experience to release stress or get strong, these classes serve if you attune to how you feel and what you need.

Before every practice, always check in with how you feel and what your body/mind needs from you that day.

What is the Mantra and Meditation Playlist?

The Mantra and Meditation Playlist presents subtle body practices that focus the mind and connect you to your innate wisdom.

The subtle body, or energetic body, represents one of five body’s within each individual. Alignment within the five body’s creates harmony and unites the physical and energetic realms. The five bodies consist of the physical body, the prana (breath) body, the intuitive or wisdom body, the emotional or mental body, and the bliss body, which is also called the soul.

The five bodies are known as koshas in Sanskrit.

The koshas are from Vedantic philosophy. Kosha usually translates as the sheath or the layers of ourselves going from the grossest to the most subtle.

  • The first and grossest kosha is the Annamaya kosha, being the physical body. It deals with all the things that we take in, such as what we feel and eat.

  • The second kosha is Pranamaya kosha, being the layer just below. Pranamaya kosha is your energetic body. We work with this kosha through the body’s energy lines; in yoga, we call the energy lines nadis, and in TCM and acupuncture, they’re called meridians.

  • The third kosha is Manomaya kosha, which represents your emotional body. It represents the mind and emotions and who we think we are.

  • The fourth kosha is the Vijnanamaya kosha, which represents the intuitive or wisdom body.

  • The fifth kosha is Ananadamaya kosha, the bliss body, or what I like to call the soul.

This playlist is perfect for yogis of all levels; you don’t need any previous experience to take any of the classes in this playlist.

Why mantra?

Mantra is one aspect of yoga Clara wanted to feature in the Practice with Clara Apps. When working with a mantra, focus on the sound, not necessarily the meaning. The way mantra was taught to Clara was simply to enjoy the sounds themselves and how they create and reverberate in the body.

The gift of mindfulness practices such as yoga, mantra, and meditation is that we start to develop an ear to hear the body’s subtle messages. The body never lies, so if you want accurate information, take the elevator downstairs out of your mind to feel what’s happening in the body.

Class of the Day Playlist

Based on the Practice with Clara Program

What is the Class of the Day Playlist?

Each month, we present a class of the day calendar and playlist with a unique yoga, meditation, or mantra class. The Class of the Day Playlist offers a monthly calendar of classes that we design based on a theme.

The class of the day uses the framework from the Practice with Clara program, a formula based on sustainability.  Each day of the week is allotted a specific style (vinyasa, Hatha, yin/restorative) so that you feel balanced by the end of the week.

The 5 Guiding Principles of the PWC Program include:

  • Checking in with how you feel and what you need before selecting a class

  • Showing up and working with where you are at

  • Practicing each day with various styles of yoga and meditation

  • Balancing muscle groups to avoid strain and burnout

  • Enjoying the mental, physical, emotional transformation

We include a calendar for each month for you to see the classes AND track your progress.

Here's the outline for the program I’ve created for us to explore together:

  • Monday: we start the week with vinyasa or hatha yoga

  • Tuesday: we light it up with a vinyasa class OR slow flow.

  • Wednesday: we add a little more fire OR Hatha.

  • Thursday: we add a little more fire OR mudra/meditation.

  • Friday: we rest our bodies with a mantra/meditation OR Hatha class.

  • Saturday: LIVE yoga class with me or a similar vinyasa class

  • Sunday: we rejuvenate with yin/restorative yoga or meditation

I hope this Program allows you to witness (and enjoy!) your transformation.

How does the Class of the Day work?

On the first day of the month, we upload a new calendar with the outline of the month’s classes to the Class of the Day Playlist. Each month has a unique theme for students to focus on and develop in their practice. Themes from the past include peak poses, chakras, mantras, the gods and goddesses of the Hindu Pantheon, and Tantra

Students may choose to do the day’s class or select a different yoga class to do on that particular day. There’s also the option to share your experience, ask questions, and provide feedback in the Practice with Clara Community Facebook Group with thousands of yogis worldwide.

We invite everyone to hold each other accountable by showing up and sharing support in the PWC FB group.

Who is this playlist for?

Anyone who wants to create a ritual around their practice to explore unique themes and styles of yoga, we take the pressure off you by choosing a daily class.

What’s included with the playlist?

Each class of the day playlist provides:

  • A downloadable calendar

  • Spotify playlists per class

  • A variety of yoga, mantra, and meditation classes

  • Support from a community of yogis worldwide

What equipment do I need?

The list of props and equipment needed is outlined in the class write-ups.

Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga

What is the Prenatal & Postnatal Collection?

The Prenatal Yoga Collection provides classes for expecting yogis who want to continue their yoga practice throughout pregnancy.

The Prenatal Collection includes Trimester 1, Trimester 2, and Trimester 3, with varying levels, styles, and class lengths, to accommodate seasoned practitioners and those newer to the practice. Through breathwork and postures that strengthen the body and mind, prenatal yoga helps you prepare for the delivery of your baby.

The Postnatal collection includes classes for Trimester 4 post-pregnancy.

The classes in each of the trimesters include vinyasa yoga, slow flow, Hatha, restorative/yin, and meditation. Each trimester builds off of the previous with thematic content to help you along each stage of your pregnancy.

Trimester 1: Slow It Down
The first series of the prenatal yoga collection features six classes. Hatha, Slow Flow, Restorative, and Meditation courses will help you slow down while maintaining a movement practice.

Trimester 2: Take It Up

The second series of the prenatal yoga collection features six classes. If you feel like you can handle more movement and vigor in body and mind, the second-trimester classes offer a bit more flow.

Trimester 3: Get Strong

The third series of the prenatal yoga collection features seven classes. This is the time to get strong in both body and mind. The courses in this series feature breathwork and simple poses to create strength and space to prepare you for childbirth.

Trimester 4: Recover

The fourth series of the prenatal yoga collection features five classes, and you can choose from any of the classes on the app to reconnect to your body.

See how to modify through each phase of your pregnancy with the Modifications for Pregnancy video. There are ample modifications and adjustments with props offered in the Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga collection.

Please consult with your physician before exploring any new physical activities during your pregnancy. It is not advisable to start a yoga practice while pregnant unless you’ve consulted your doctor.

How do I get access to the Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga collections?

Become a member and join PWC to get access to the Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga collections. All members have full access to the collection with a subscription.

The other option is to purchase the Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga collections as a gift for an expecting friend or yourself. Purchase the Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Bundle for USD 79.99 to receive full access to the collections, forever!

Who is this playlist for?

The Prenatal classes are for expecting yogis who want to maintain a mind/body practice throughout their pregnancy.

Can I give the Prenatal bundle to a friend as a gift?

Yes! You can buy a gift card for a friend or family member to join PWC with a subscription, or you can buy a gift card for USD 79.99 and purchase the Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Collection as a separate bundle to watch as many times as you like.

How do I know that these classes are safe for me to do?

Clara filmed all of the Prenatal yoga classes during her pregnancy with her daughter, Karmen. Each class was filmed during the allotted trimester, for you can see how Clara moves and breathes through each stage of her pregnancy.

The Postnatal Collection was filmed in the months following Karmen’s birth, so you’ll watch as Clara reconnects to her body and its rhythms in yoga practice.

If you have a regular yoga practice, please modify as necessary based on the recommendations in the videos. There are plenty of variations and modifications offered in each class video and the Modifications for Pregnancy video.

Please listen to your body; every pregnancy looks and feels so different, so we advise watching and learning how to modify and adjust to accommodate your body as it changes throughout your pregnancy.

Please consult with your doctor before initiating a new routine and continue to check in throughout your pregnancy.

What is the 30-Day Virtual Yoga Challenge and when does it start?

The Practice with Clara 30-Day Virtual Yoga Challenges are an opportunity to reinvest in yourself and make it to your mat each day. We aim to provide yoga that makes you feel good with daily rituals featuring various yoga styles, meditations, pranayamas, and mantras to create a routine and commit to health and wellness.

The 30-Day Virtual Yoga Challenges bring the Practice with Clara Yoga Community together; we hold each other accountable in the Facebook Group and PWC app to inspire and motivate practitioners worldwide. Each challenge offers a unique theme, journaling questions, class calendar, LIVE yoga classes, and a LIVE giveaway with prizes from our challenge partners. We announce the 30 Day Yoga Challenges a month in advance to prepare and share with your friends and family who would benefit from 30-days of daily ritual.

The yoga challenges are FREE for all new members and included in all PWC subscriptions for current members.

What does the Practice with Clara 30-Day Virtual Yoga Challenge include?

Where can I find the 30-Day Virtual Yoga Challenges?

Here’s where you can read the history of the 30-Day Challenges; or, go to Practice with Clara and look for the 30-Day Challenge playlists. Past challenge playlists are at the bottom of the app unless featured that month.

You can also check the Events Page to see the previous yoga challenges with more information on what to expect.

What are the challenge expectations?

Make it to your mat—that is the only qualifier to participate in the 30-Day Virtual Yoga Challenges. The goal of each challenge is to make a daily ritual of showing up to your yoga mat.

We want to inspire a daily ritual of showing up for YOU, and every day looks and feels different. The point of the challenges is to make time to do what you need to show up with more energy and compassion for those in your life. If you need to take a savasana for the daily class, please do it. There are no set expectations or requirements to join and enter to win one of the gifts from the partners; you simply need to show up and be present for whatever arises on your mat that day.

So I don’t need to do the class on that particular day of the challenge?

Ideally, yes, you would do the class allotted on that day. The 30-Day Virtual Yoga Challenges follow the Practice with Clara Program, a schedule of courses designed to balance muscle groups with days of rest where restorative/yin yoga and meditation are featured.

If you want to move the classes around to suit your schedule, that is an option. If you need to take savasana or meditation on a given day due to fatigue or strain, please do so. The idea is to make it to your mat every day and take care of your mind and body accordingly.

We want all practitioners of the challenge to finish strong and celebrate with a new habit of mindful movement.

What is the Practice with Clara Program?

Practice with Clara Program is a formula based on sustainability. Each day of the week is allotted a certain style (vinyasa, Hatha, yin/restorative) so you feel balanced at the week’s end.

Here's the outline of the program:

  • Monday: we start the week with vinyasa or hatha yoga

  • Tuesday: we light it up with a vinyasa class OR slow flow.

  • Wednesday: we add a little more fire OR Hatha.

  • Thursday: we add a little more fire OR mudra/meditation.

  • Friday: we rest our bodies with a mantra/meditation OR Hatha class.

  • Saturday: LIVE yoga class with me or a similar vinyasa class

  • Sunday: we rejuvenate with yin/restorative yoga or meditation
